GLA University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). The B.Tech program is available in two formats: the regular B.Tech, which spans four years, and the B.Tech Lateral Entry program, which is designed as a three-year course.
Under the B.Tech Lateral Entry option, students are admitted directly into the second year of the program, as they already possess a three-year diploma qualification. Additionally, GLA University provides a flexible B.Tech option tailored for working professionals. This program is specifically structured for employed individuals who wish to pursue higher education without leaving their jobs, making it an ideal choice for career-focused learners.
Students who have completed a diploma or polytechnic qualification can enroll directly into the second year of the B.Tech program and complete the remaining three years of engineering education. Lateral entry students enjoy the same academic facilities as regular students and attend classes alongside them. The three-year B.Tech Lateral Entry program consists of six semesters, each lasting six months, with mid-term assessments conducted during the semester and end-term examinations held at the conclusion of each term.
Many students choose to pursue a diploma or polytechnic course after completing their 10th standard and begin working soon after. Over time, these individuals often seek to enhance their qualifications through an undergraduate engineering degree to improve technical skills, gain exposure to new technologies, and secure career advancements such as promotions and salary increments. However, due to job commitments, leaving employment is not always feasible. For such learners, the B.Tech program with flexible timings—commonly known as B.Tech for working professionals—serves as an effective alternative.
The flexible B.Tech program allows students to complete the degree in three years through weekend classes, evening lectures on weekdays, and sessions held on public holidays. This structure minimizes the need for daily campus visits, requiring attendance mainly for practical sessions, examinations, and assignment submissions. Students also receive access to a Learning Management System (LMS), enabling them to view course content, schedules, and academic activities online.
This flexible learning mode allows working professionals to complete their engineering degree conveniently. The program includes mid-term and end-term exams across six semesters, along with regular assessments. Students benefit from virtual classrooms, experienced faculty, and networking opportunities, while also saving on travel and accommodation costs and continuing to earn during their studies.
